Chateau Haut-Brisson 2016
Château Haut-Brisson was the first property acquired by Peter Kwok and his daughter Elaine in 1997. At the time of purchase, 8 ha surrounded the house. Today, this chateau of 20 ha is located on the limestone plateau of Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse and the gravelly hilltops of Saint-Sulpice de Faleyrens. The diversity of terroirs, combined with vines of an average age of 30 years, allows us to produce wines at optimum maturity that expresses the terrior.
The vineyards of Château Haut-Brisson is oriented southwards, and benefits from ideal exposures of sun.
Tasting
The 2010 Haut-Brisson displays a sweeter, more forward and evolved personality compared to the Reserve, with less oak but lots of fleshy black currant and kirsch- like fruit intermixed with some lavender, licorice, and a touch of spice box. The wine is medium to full-bodied, round and ideal for drinking over the next decade or more.
Vignification
Château Haut-Brisson wines are aged in the same barrels for 15 to 18 months at constant temperature in our wine cellar. Depending on the vintage year, the proportion of new oak varies between 20 to 30%, with the balance using 1 and 2 years old barrels.
